I both value and respect Dr. King's sacrifice not only for the strides he made in race relations, but for the reverberating impact his vision has had on my life. Despite the success of his struggle the war is far from over. It appears my brothers and sisters have chosen to become complacent. It seems like the advent of Obama ,and the plethora of black millionaires coming out of the woodwork, has given the race carte blanche to rest on our laurels. I don't want to put words in the mouth of a dead hero(and luckily for me someone else already did) but I think Dr.King would equally detest and relish where our people have landed after his death.
What he would probably relish...
What he would probably detest... But again that's just my opinion. So, this King day I encourage you(just my fellow African Americans) to think about what we can do to better our people. On how to erase the modern day Steppin' Fletchers from our race forever. With that said I'll leave out on this note.
