Superman?
So Twentieth century.
Batman?
So two years ago.
D.C’s biggest cash cow for the last four years has been none other than the Green Lantern. If this shocks you then you don’t read comic books because Hal Jordan has been noticeably lining the company’s wallet with more green than his namesake since his “rebirth” in 2004. So, obviously D.C. would want to extend the consciousness of the character, which has been lacking at best, into other media. The comic book giant has been universally panned by comic aficionados for dragging its feet when choosing to adapt their less recognized superheroes for celluloid consumption; in favor of inundating us with various sequels and relaunches of Batman and Superman. Well, all that is set to change in the summer of 2011 when the Emerald avenger streaks into theaters helmed by Casino Royale director Martin Campbell and, former first round pick for the seemingly abandoned Flash movie, Ryan Reynolds starring as Hal Jordan. And here’s the first look at the ….what the hell?
Wait, what? That’s what he’s wearing? What happened to this outfit?
Why couldn’t we just get another Superman relaunch?
