Her dedication to her craft, much like her beauty, is unquestionable but her avant garde style propels her into a realm of super stardom usually reserved for NASA probes.
Recently another alluring vocalist has staked her claim in Hollywood almost overnight. Not to jump on a bandwagon but I really dig Lady Gaga. People write her off as weird but I think that's an unfitting definition.
Ok...maybe a little weird. But I think that quirkiness displays a level of thoughtfulness usually, pardon the pun, M.I.A in female musicians. Not to sound like a pig headed chauvinist but I feel like her presence challenges her peers to explore their creativity more actively. Lady Gaga spent the better part of this year pushing her album and pairing with artist to expand her fan base. Working with Wale and Beyonce Gaga has proved she as versatile as they come and hardly a flash in the pan. In a few days her next album, consisting of only eight tracks, is hitting shelves and it's already earned spots on Billboard's charts. Gaga's camp claim the tracks are some of the most catchy songs you will ever hear. So it seems like 2009/10's radio waves will be spouting Gaga again.
This seems like a new trend for artist. Drake, Lil Wayne, and now Lady Gaga have blanketed popular music with a myriad of material and subsequently reaped the fruits of their labors. So was Queen's famous "Radio Gaga" really the inspiration for the pop juggernaut's name? Or was it a prognosis of future events?
stay tuned...
